Why I started this blog

After the success of my other blogs Moroccan Cuisine and Customs and Morocco Travel Tips and Advice I thought to start up with this Venice project, because I love Venice and I visited it and its area about a zillion times. I watched it develop, change and still remain the same. Venice is one of my favorite places ever and a place I feel the need to visit every year. I hope you will enjoy this blog and help me grow it by comments and following it. Please also visit my other blogs where I' m telling you everything about Morocco, Moroccan travel and Moroccan cuisine. Thank you

Top 10 reasons to visit Venice

Magical Venice

Top 10 reasons why Venice is the ultimate travel destination

It’s been a long time since I could post on this blog. But now, I’m very happy to return providing even more information on this great region and on Italy overall.

I love Venice for countless reasons. However, this time around I decided the best 10 reasons why Venice is the ultimate Nr 1 travel destination in the world. This also includes all the best reasons why you should definitely pay a visit here if only once in a lifetime.

1.      Venice is magical

Venice is wonderful, totally unique, romantic, exciting and still very Italian. Also, Venice is one of the very few places which are a Unesco World Heritage in their entirety. In many ways, it’s still a wonder that Venice is still standing. You won’t find any other town which would look like Venice and would have all the beauty of this island-town. On top of it all, Venice is really a magical place and luckily, this magic cannot be eradicated not even by the hordes of tourists visiting all year round. The best mission in Venice is to find places, which are not crowded at all. To get lost a little bit. Either way, you can feel the magic of Venice along with the magic of Italy and its people all around you once you are there.

2.       Venice is easy to access

Venice is one of the easiest places to reach no matter where you travel from. Venice is served by 2 international airports. It has just the perfect geographical location. No wonder that it served as the global hub for international shipments for such a long time. It’s served by advanced train lines, it has a large port where it receives international shipments and cargo. It has bus lines coming here from all across Europe.

3.     Venice is starstruck

Venice is full of stars. Movie stars, millionaires, world-famous top models, artists and all. All the most successful people have to visit Venice at least once a year. Venice serves as the location for tons of popular movies with James Bond’s Casino Royale being only one of the more recent examples. If you are lucky, you can spot at least one star somewhere in Venice or a film shooting scene during your visit. It’s also one of the most popular scenes for photoshoots for the biggest fashion magazines in the world. Venice is the location of several international film festivals too.

4       Venice is an international art hub

Venice is the location of the Venice Biennale that’s among the largest international contemporary art events in the world. This also means additional attractions for all the visitors because Venice would be full of modern art work basically everywhere! You will spot all sorts of mini-exhibitions everywhere you go. It makes things all the more exciting. I love Venice during the Biennale season.

5.       Venice is the perfect startup point for excursions

Venice has a perfect location. It’s surrounded by plenty of beautiful and interesting islands. You can do island hopping tours from there. If you want to visit the beach, all you need to do is to hop on a boat and head off to the island of Lido, which would instantly transport you to the perfect holiday beach scene. If you want colors you can visit Burano and if you want to learn about glassmaking and visit a place that’s so similar to Venice but a lot more silent, you can head to Murano. If you want to travel to some of the best cities in Italy, then Verona, Padova, Milano, and Bologna are only a few hours away ( or less, if you go by plane). Thanks to the great train and bus lines, you can easily get to any of the biggest and most beautiful cities in Europe.

6.       The region has it all one would desire

The reason for this is simple. Venice region has it all. If you want beach-life, you head on to Lido or Lido di Jesolo less than an hour by bus or by boat from Venice. If you want mountains, all you need is to hop on a bus and within a few hours, you can be in the mountains. And if you want to experience more of Italy, it’s very easy to set up a good itinerary. Thanks to the very good transport system you can easily travel to any regions or cities from Venice by any means of transport.

7.       It’s the perfect travel destination all year long

Venice is one of the rare places which are the top-visited destinations all year long. One reason for that is the city’s reputation to be the ultimate honeymoon spot, the world-famous Venice Carnival which is traditionally held every February and lasts for almost 3 whole weeks! All in all, there is also action and plenty to do in Venice no matter when you visit. And this is a great characteristic.

8.   Venice lives with the continuous danger of disappearing

The beauty is for real in a very special way, when at the same time it’s hindered with the continuous danger of disappearing. This is also the case with Venice. It’s unfortunately endangered but for now, it stands bravely and proudly. Visit Venice while you can!

9.       Venice is living history

Venice is so full of historical places, buildings, monuments, that the best way to visit is to read at least a brief guide on the best and most beautiful or famous places to visit. I would definitely suggest you check out my earlier posts on the places to visit in Venice for free. I am also planning to release a post regarding all the best places to visit depending on one’s timeframe and possibilities.

10.   Venice is a place you can never get bored guaranteed

Venice is anti-boredom. Even if you sit in a café and all you do is to read and view the crowd, you will not feel bored. It’s because while it’s antique, at the same time it’s as Italian as it can possibly be. This means it’s full of life. And there are so many things to do here. You will never, ever get bored in Venice. But in return, you are in for spending a lot of money, if you want to. Or use my method of finding the best places where you can get by, by spending a little less yet still feel fulfilled.
